Hi!
My name is Thea and I have a Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage Management from Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. While studying, I’ve been working for the organisation Museum Stavanger in my hometown Stavanger, Norway. This organisation consists of 10 different museums that includes everything from a art museum and a natural history museum, to a monastery and historical museums and buildings.
My online experience mainly comes from my own personal social medias, but also running all the social media and websites of the student organisation, Kultura, where I was the leader, and also some work on Museum Stavanger’s social media. I have experience with the website called digitaltmuseum.no (Digital Museum), which is a national Norwegian database for the collections of historical museums and art museums. On this website you can search for different collections, artefacts, paintings, pictures and so on. You will find a picture of the artefact, as well as a description and information of when the artefact came to the museum.
I’m very excited for this module and to have the opportunity to dig a little deeper into the world of online museums and galleries, and how our online presence have and will change these institutions.
